Spider-Man 4, the next installment of the wall-crawler as part of the MCU, is getting a lot of buzz these days, but not because we are about to see it. Coinciding with the premiere of the acclaimed Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse - Tom Holland's favorite of the Spider-Man films - it was revealed that the fourth live-action film of the current Spider-Man has been halted by the current writers’ strike, along with so many other ongoing productions. Now, Tom Holland himself - the current Peter Parker in the series - has set a difficult condition to both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios for Spider-Man 4 to become a reality.

This was acknowledged by the actor himself in a recent interview with Yahoo, where Tom Holland was clear about the possibility of Spider-Man 4 (working title) becoming a reality: "If we can't find a way to compete with the third one [Spider-Man: No Way Home], he’ll swing off into the sunset. That's how open and blunt Tom Holland was when asked if Spider-Man 4 was on the right track.

Tom Holland says he'd be "the luckiest kid alive" if he only played Spider-Man for the rest of his life. But also doesn't sound like him returning for Spider-Man 4 is a sure thing. "If we can't find a way to compete with the third one, he'll swing off into the sunset." pic.twitter.com/vEK12tq6b0

In light of these words, and following recent events - from the current writers strike to the restructuring of upcoming MCU releases - it is possible that as of today, Tom Holland has not signed a contract for his next projects as Spider-Man in the movies, despite the fact that his next appearances as Marvel's wall-crawler were confirmed some time ago. All this with the interest of both Tom Holland and Zendaya to return once again to his arachnid saga in the movies.

"I can't talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There's been multiple conversations had, but at this point it's very, very early stages," Tom Holland recently confirmed about the production of Spider-Man 4.
